Story

When planning to build this very unique custom home in the Cook St. Village area of Fairfield these clients were considering functionality, lasting beauty, and environmental integrity. Based upon those values, for the sloped sections of the roof we helped them decide upon a long lasting 24 gauge Westform Metals Prolok roof with the most durable paint coating in the industry (a Kynar 500 paint). With multiple flat roofs, sloped roofs, and walk-out decks this project involved many interface details between metal roofing, torch-on membranes, and custom flashings. With the walk-out decks located on the second floor and the layout of the exterior being what it is, unlike many roofing projects where details are usually viewed from a distance, or even never at all, this project had many vantage points from which technical details would be viewed up close and personal on a regular basis. Because of our meticulous attention to detail, we were excited about the opportunity for the care we put into our work to be more easily noticed and appreciated by our clients. Since the roof has been done, the exterior finished, and the house moved into, with its natural cedar exterior, thoughtful landscaping, and crisp looking Weathered Zinc coloured roof this home stands out as one of the most unique and tasteful developments in this cherished neighbourhood near downtown Victoria.
